Cast your mind back to Spring, 1891. Do you remember how London was terrorized by a plague of mysterious "attacks" on young ladies? If you are of the fairer sex yourself, you were probably told gently but firmly by a male authority figure (a kindly uncle for example, or your younger brother) that all unaccompanied excursions would have to cease for a while, but that you mustn't worry your delightful little head about it. The recent discovery of this diary, at a car boot sale in Plumstead, may go some way towards explaining what really happened all those years ago.
